Welcome to H Alex Harrison Photography
I am a Brookline-based artist and entrepreneur. I received my Bachelor of Arts in 2006 from Sarah Lawrence College, concentrating in photography under the instruction of Michael Spano and Joel Sternfeld. I received my Juris Doctor in 2011 from Northeastern University School of Law.
My influences range from the conceptual typology studies of Bernd and Hilla Becher, to the photography-as-graphic-design prints of Andreas Gursky and Hiroshi Sugimoto. I believe that the relationship of the shapes on the page as an abstract graphical element should be considered in tandem with the subject matter depicted. These lines, observed on their own sake, can provide a deeper appreciation for the visual form, whether it be the chaotic elegance of nature, or the angular order of the man-made.
